accompanying Vanity at her side, sometimes with her neck tightly tied. She appears in your rooms when you've shut out the world, the head of a toubled,hermitted girl. She'll fly around your head screamin in your ears, loud enough they tear through your mind with a pierce. but it's never just one on it's own, screaming at all different tones. So cover your ears and lock the doors, because Solitude will surely make you, drop to the floor.

The Story
Sometimes people need some time alone to them self. Due to certain circumstances, some people have no choice but to live lonely due to tragic events in there lives. This tells the the story of how Solitude came to be.

Joanna Lin was born into a very poor family in the city. The father and mother had to work everyday of the week just to get enough money to raise the Joanna and survive. Throughout her toddler years she spent them close to her mother while she was at work. The mother worked long and hard in a corner store by there house. She'd carry the child with her while at work servicing for the public and dealing with all the other hardships of running a store. The father worked at a restruant not too far away as a dishwasher. He'd work full hours and sometimes whole days, coming in the morning when the restruant opened, till night time when the restruant closed. Joanna grew up learning the lessons of hardwork, and as she worked her way through into the 5th grade her parents grew ever so proud. She knew not to take things for granted and studied hard to bring joy to her families hardships. All was not well in school though, Joanna was always made fun of because of her parents and her situation. She went through childhood being the center of everyones "poor jokes". With that she never gained many friends at school. She contiued on regardless of the mental anguish she had been feeling.

Little Joanna made her way through elementary school and on the night of her graduation, something terrible happened. Joanna was at her school with her mother, when suddenly one of the other parents came running into the school. The other mother was crying and could not speak cleary about what was wrong. It had turned out that restruant where Joanna's Father worked at had been vandalized and set on fire. Everyone in the school immediatly left the school and drove out to the restruant. When Joanna and her mother got there they watched as the firefighters battle off the dancing flames scurry away in fear. It wasn't until then, Joanna's mom realized that her husband had mentioned staying at the restruant late tonight before he could make it to his daughters graduation. With this, Joanna's mother went hysterical and ran towards the house. The firefighters held her back, and it wasn't until five other firefighters came to pull her to the floor and calm her down. Joanna was not so sure what had happened but she could see it in her mother's eyes that it wasn't something good. Later that evening, Joanna's mother received information that one of the several bodies found at the burnt restruant was that of Joanna's father. Joanna's mother fell to her knees and cried endlessly. A few hours later she explained to Joanna that there had been a change in the family that may effect her for the rest of her life, thus explaining to Joanna what death was. That lesson stayed in Joanna's mind

Years went by and Joanna grew with time. Joanna's mother also had grown over time, she carried on her care for her daughter living and working as a single mother. She worked her bones off day and night and tried her best to spend time with her daughter making sure she grew up right. A few more years went by and the cost of living was becoming a little harder for Joanna and her mom. Joanna was 18 years old, and took a job working at the store her mom was at. With that the two worked and worked but still barely making it by.

one day after school Joanna headed to work and had a run in with another girl. The girl was accompanied by several other girls, and Joanna had accidently walked into her. The girl immediately yelled out at Joanna calling her a bitch and told her to watch where she was going. With this Joanna had the sudden shock in fear and continued on her way. As she walked, she suddenly heard a girl yell "NO! get back here Lisa, HEY crazy bitch! STop her" and as Joanna turned around, the girl from earliar lept and tackled her to the ground. The girl named Lisa began swinging punches at Joanna, and Joanna simply blcoked her hits and hit her back. The other girls finally got to where the two were and watched as Joanna send a punch at Lisa's face knocking her to the floor. Lisa staggered up and the rest of the girls went over to pull her back from Joanna. One of the other girls walked over to help Joanna up, her name was "sam" short for samantha. She asked if Joanna was ok and apologized for her friends actions. Samantha then goes on explainin that Lisa had just broken up with her boyfriend and was going ballistic all week. The girls then walk Joanna back to her work and told her to keep in touch. With time the girls all hung out and Joanna finally felt like she fit in with people.

months went by and the girls grew closer and closer espcially Lisa and Joanna. One night Joanna and her mom discussed the rent cost how it had gone up and if they couldn't come up with the money soon, they maybe kicked out. Joanna became extremely depressed and told Lisa all about it. Lisa told her to stay calm, go home and just wake up in the morning and pretend everything would be alright

that morning Joanna woke up to find a envelope filled with one hundred dollar bills. Ecstatic, she ran to her mother's room and gave her the money. Joanna later came to find out that the money was from Lisa, and she went in search for Lisa to ask her where she got all that money. Turns out that after all this time Lisa, Sam and the rest of the girls were involed with a gang, and the night before they had robbed a bank. This spark an interest in Joanna and she asked about joining them. It wasn't until long Joanna started rolling with them and begun to live an underground life of crimes and gangs. With the money she made she was able to pay for a new and better place for her and her mom to live and it wasn't till long that Joanna went to graduate High school and continue onto college.

A few years later Joanna began her carreer in the Social worker field while attending a university. Her life, as well as her mom's, was begining to burn brighter then it was before.

A few more years into her college life Joanna landed a stable job, and decided that she wanted out from the gang. She left them and moved out to her own apartment in the city. A year went by and a week before her graduation ceramony from the university she receieved a phone call from the police. They told her that her mother had suddenly passed away due to reasons unknown. Joanna dove into a a depression and quickly shut off the world around her. She didn't attend her graduation and failed to show up up at work anymore. Her world seemd to have completely fallen apart without any support from her only loved ones. As deeper and deeper her depression grew the further she became to any human contact. She didn't answer any of her calls from jobs and because she didn't make many friends at school, her lonliness got the best of her.

Two months went by and she recieved a letter from Lisa exaplaining that she was in trouble and in need of help. Joanna could not deal with the pain of what she'd been through in the past, and how her life was based on crime so she left the letter un-attended on her table.

as time went by, the rent started to go up again and Joanna. being jobless, needed some help. She put out an ad for a room-mate who would be very social and worked around the neighborhood. Joanna had some small hopes about the possibility of regaining her life back through the room mate. It wasn't until long that a woman by the name of Regina Li decided to take a look at the apartment. After several interviews Joanna decided to let Regina live with her in the apartment in deal that Regina had to pay the full price of the first three months. Joanna watched withen those first few days how Regina was so happy and perky, it caused Joanna to flee back to her depressive state of mind. One night she kept receiving phone calls over and over every 30 mins during the day. Finally a message appeared on Joanna's answering machine. It was Lisa calling, she needed to tell Joanna that there was a new boss in town and he was after all ex-members and tracking each and everyone of them down. Right near the end of the message there was a loud scream and a strange ripping noise.The remainder of the message was left silent for a good 2 mins before it hung up. Joanna listened to the message and reacted by ignoring it.

One night Regina tells joanna that she would be home really late and that Joanna didn't need to wait for her. Joanna just nodded her head and sat in front of the computer. Regina then left and closed the door behind her. 3 hours went by and Joanna sat at home in the silence. Suddenly Johanna heard the front door open and she leaned her chair back to get a good glance of at whom she thought would be Regina. In her surprise there was a man at her front door sneaking in with several other guys. Joanna then noticed the tattoo on one of the guys arms and it was the same as the one she had on her back that indicated that they were from the same gang. Joanna paniced and snook into her room and hid in the closet hoping that they would just go away. She thought she was safe, until she started seeing what was a dark looming shadow by the closet door. Joanna then decided to open the door slowly and leave when they weren't looking. Suddenly Joanna accidently sneezed and immediatly the guys ran over to the closet and swung open the door. Joanna sat there in the closet scared for life and immediatly reacted by jumping up on her feet and punching the first guy that had opened the door. The Leader of the group ran into the room weilding what was one of the axs that was found near the Fire emergency kit in the hallway. He dashed in and swung at Joanna's throat. Joanna fell to the floor and a river of blood started flowing from her cut Joanna knew that death loomed above her and she closed her eyes as the man took one more final swing at her neck lopping it off. The men suddenly heard a girl outside singing loudly about how she got some part in some play. They picked up Joanna's body and head and placed them back in the closet and left through the fire escape.

Joanna's body was not found until months later. Her body had decayed for a while, and upon the discovery of hers was the body of Regina Li, whos face had been completely slashed off the skull. Joanna returned as Solitude, a lonesome girl that boxed herself in her own world away from people who wanted to help her. Her best friend was her mind. She floats around casting illusions of more then one head, and they whisper and scream all sorts of words driving a person insane. The strangest sightings though claim that Solitude follows Vanity around and aids her with victims.
